Avrupa Hastalık Önleme
ve Kontrol Merkezi(ECDC), AB ülkelerinde her 7 HIV pozitiften 1’inin virüsü
taşıdığından habersiz olduğunu tahminlediğini açıkladı. Buna göre, AB
ülkelerinde toplamda 810.000 HIV ile enfekte kişi bulunmakta ve bunların
122.000’ini HIV pozitif olduğunu bilmemektedir.
AB ülkelerinde, HIV
bulaşı ile tanının belirlenmesi arasında ortalama 4 yıl bulunmakta ve HIV
pozitiflerin yarısının ileri evrede tanı almaktadır.
Dünya Sağlık
Örgütü’nün(DSÖ) global tahminleri ise ECDC’nin AB ülkeleri için yaptığı
tahminlemeden biraz daha karamsar. DSÖ’ye göre HIV ile yaşayan 37 milyon
kişiden %40’ı HIV statülerinden habersiz...

Sağlık Bakanlığı’nın
açıkladığı verilerle, HIV ile enfekte olan kişi sayısı 1985’ten bu yana toplam
13.766 kişi. Bu sayının 1661’i ise 2016 yıl içinde tanı almış.
Son 10 yılda yeni HIV
enfeksiyonu artış oranı olan %450 ile bütün ülkeleri geride bırakmışız.
